J and I have been dating for almost 4 years. We met in New York City, before I moved to Philadelphia for three years for law school. I graduated in May, took the NY bar, passed and a month later, around Christmastime, J proposed. 2009 was quite a year! Now, we're planning a wedding in Fairfield, CT on May 28, 2011.
Our budget right now is a major concern. I work for the Federal government, drafting legislation and J works as an architect in Georgetown. So far, we've booked the reception venue and the church. We're financing most, if not, all of it ourselves. Planning is mostly my job; I'm all the way in Washington and since my mom is no longer with us, I only have my dad in CT. Planning from a distance can be really hard. I'll be posting ideas as I have them, especially cost-cutting ones!
